the first time i ever saw the movie jaws (probably a year ago) the scene where he sinks looked very painterly, so i wanted to starting painting scenes in photoshop. lack of confidence and determination and practice prevented me from doing it, until months later, and after some painting practice, i watched Dredd. a shot of lena headey's ma-ma reignited the idea, so now i got a bunch of screencap paintings coming!

recently iv been sketching digitally, right in photoshop. i find it very efficient to have all those tools to help with the whole process, like lasso tool to select and rearrange lines as opposed to erasing and redrawing (although digital erasing is a lot easier and cleaner than erasing pencil on paper). but at the same time im worried i will get too used to it and lost my touch with pencil/paper.

just a thought. of course il keep sketching traditionally.

1. Work on my illustration in pencil, pen, charcoal/pastels
2. Improve in figure sketching
3. start combining traditional art with digital media
